After a flurry of activity with races coming thick and fast it’s time for another Grand Prix update as we catch our breath before the next race.
Andy Weaver thinks he’s got it won already and few would argue as he sits top of the pile on 545 point but he has played all his cards and reached the maximum of eight races so is there to be knocked off the top. Mark Homer sits in second place on 504 point but has also used up his eight races and has Dave Norman in third place on 487. There is a huge gap to Simon Hughes on 356, Darran Bishop on 334, Richard Jones on 283 and Stu Perkins on 269.
In the ladies competition it also looks like a one horse race with Helen Tromans cantering away at the head of the pack on 240 point having only registered in 3 GP races, Lisa Kendrick sits in second place on 176 with Cilla Harding in third on 168. Hannah McGuire is on 132, Carol Fisher on 121 and Jane Campbell on 109 with no one else managing to reach three figures.
With 6 races left a lot could still change particularly with relay options to gain bonus points and jokers still to be played. It’s not over yet.
