Man Vs Horse 9th June
WANTED – Runners prepared to race against something a little different to normal, not the clock or each other, but a horse. If it’s good enough for Usain Bolt and Jesse Owens then surely the blue hoops can have a go. We just need someone to punch the horse and hold it down while we get a head start.

The annual Man V Horse race takes place in Llanwrtyd Wells (mid Wales), there is a 22 miler for individuals, which sounds like hard work, or a more appealing relay. Three legs of just over 7 miles each (rather a disadvantage when the horses have 4 legs but runners don’t have to pass a vets inspection).

We can enter any number of teams of 3 (cost £55 per team), all men , all ladies or mixed.

Important Information about Johns event and the organisation

Join John and Friends, Family and fellow runners in the Park Tavern Cot Lane K,ford
6:30 (ish) to celebrate.

In 1986 I ran my first ever 10K which happened to be the first ever DK10K and the next week I joined the club. I have to thank DK and its members over the years for making a memorable period in my life. With the exception of 6 years at Tipton in my early 50's, it has been 26 years of great times.
Running is a fantastic sport because it goes hand in hand with socialising and believe me most of DK's best runners over the years, knew how to sink a few pints.
Away day trips such as Llandudno 10, Windsor 1/2, Mickelover 10 and last but not least the ongoing Frampton 10K are what club running is all about. No matter what your running standard is, it's how you fair in the bar later.
Most of you know Sheila and myself will be emigrating to Tenerife on the 13th. of June to hopefully enjoy some sunshine in our latter years.
I am looking forward to the curry night on the 6th. if anyone is in the Park Tavern earlier I will look forward to buying them a pint.
